I love to sleep on Papi's chest

When i was still a young baby, yes i know i am still young but what i meant was when i was new born baby, i loved to sleep on Papi chest. I felt so secure and safe that sometimes i could sleep for hours on his chest.

My baby dedication day (20/07/2008)

Today is a very special day, because it is my baby dedication day. It is the day where Papi and Mami dedicate me to God and everyone in the Church prayed for me and also for Papi and Mami. I felt asleep when the service just started and slept through the whole ceremony. Papi and Mami are very thankful to God for me and they know that God is watching over me. 

My first visit to the Church (13/07/2008)

Today i visited the Church for the first time. When we arrived there, the projector was showing my picture to welcome me for visiting the church for the first time. Auntie Anja said i was very awake and do not behave like a 2.5 weeks old baby. The picture above was taken before we left to the church, i was put in the car seat which i didn't like it and make some noise while we were on the way there.

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me besides quite waters, he restore my soul.

He guides me in path of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though i walk through the valley of shadow of death,

i will fear no evil, for you are with me,

your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. 

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.

And i will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. 

This is the Psalm Papi and Mami read for me every night before i go to bed. Nonni used to read the same Psalm for Papi every night when he was young. Papi said when he was alone living in foreign land, this Psalm reminded his of God's love and that he was never alone because God was there with him. This is a beautiful Psalm, i hope you like it and know that God is with you. 

I am home!

After staying in the hospital for 5 days with Papi and Mami, i am home for the first time. 

First day of my life

Hello World, it's me Chiara.

25th June 2008, 11pm, Papi and Mami arrived in Baden Kantonspital. Mami threw out before reaching the waiting room. A nurse took a look at mami and said she was afraid that i might have pooed and drank some liquid from the water bag. She injected some antibiotic so that it won't harm me. By mid-night the contraction intensified but i was not ready to come out yet. The nurse said my head was not in the correct position. Papi and Mami prayed a lot, calling the name of our Lord Jesus for help. Later, the doctor suggest that they should give Mami some epidural which they said would help me to go to the correct position. Mami was given the epidural but the contraction did not go away and got worse, Mami was shouting and Papi suddenly notice there was no heartbeat shown in the machine, he quickly called the nurse to come and check. A while later, the heartbeat came back, the nurse and doctor discussed and mentioned that they need to perform an emergency cesarean. That was not what Mami prepared was for, but for my sake, the agreed. 45 minutes later, Mami, Papi and a team of doctors and nurses were in the operating theater, ready to bring me out......

On 26th June 2008, 4.02am, i was born.    

I am coming!

When we reached home, Nonni cooked some pasta for Papi and Mami but Mami couldn't eat and she almost threw out. Papi prepared the tub filled with hot water so that Mami could soak herself inside and forget about the pain. For the whole day the pain didn't get any better, deep inside Mami was praying very hard asking God for help that i would be born soon. 

Wednesday evening, the pain was increasing, mami had to lay on the bed, she couldn't eat her dinner at all, Papi stayed beside until 10pm she couldn't take it anymore and they prayed that i would be born soon and decided it was time to go to the hospital. They said good bye to Lolo and Nonni before leaving and Nonni gave Mami a very good hug, i guess she knew what Mami was going through. While Mami was waiting for Papi getting the car, she felt her pant was wet she thought she was peeing and couldn't control it all! But soon she realised it was her water bag broke, hooray, Thank God, i was ready to be out. She told papi when she got into the car, they both headed to the hospital which by the was is only few minutes drive from home......... 

Again???

After being sent home by the hospital, Papi and Mami decided to go out so that she could forget the pain, besides, the nurse said walking helps. They went for Papi's hair cut and Mami had to hold the pain while waiting. I guess the hairdresser must be thinking what went wrong with her. By evening, the pain was not getting better, yet another sleepness night for both of them. Mami would wake Papi up whenever she had pain and he noted the timing, when the dawn broke in the contraction was every 5 minutes, Papi called the hospital and they asked them to go to the hospital again.When they were there the nurse put on the machine to measure how frequent was the contraction and funny enough, the contraction happened every 30 minutes! Papi and Mami had to explain to the nurse the the contraction was every 5 minutes at home. After checking on Mami they nurse again said i was not ready to be out, after few hourse of waiting we were sent home, again......

Not your time yet, baby

Tuesday morning, mami saw some blood when she was in the toilet, papi called the hospital to ask them what to do. They wanted them to go to the hospital right away so that they could take a look..... hooray... i couldn't wait to come out! When we reached the hospital a nurse was waiting for us, she took a look at Mami and told them i was not coming out yet. The pain was only the beginning, they gave Mami something to make sleep as she didn't sleep the whole night so that she would have the energy to push when i was born. The nurse didn't let Papi stay there so he had to wait in the cafe but she couldn't sleep, the pain was unbearable. At the end, the nurse let Mami called Papi and let him accompany Mami, they even let Papi share the bed together with Mami so that they could rest together. By afternoon, the nurse decided they should go home and wait, they should go back at least until the contraction is every 5 minutes. 

I want to come out!

Monday, 23rd June 2008, Mami started feeling the pain. Was it how the contraction suppose to be? It was few days before the days i was suppose to be born......but i wanted to come out earlier to meet my parents and grandparents.....

Midnight, both Papi and Mami couldn't sleep, the contraction was getting intensify, they decided to wait till the morning and call the hospital. 

Grindelwald with Lolo and Nonni

21st June 2008, 6 days till was born. Papi and Mami together with me in mami's tummy brought Lolo(grandpa) and Nonni(grandmom) to Grindelwald, the Swiss mountain resort at the Swiss alps. It was my parents' third visit to Grindelwald in a year. Can you see how much they like this place. This place deserve to be my parents' favourite it is beautiful both in the summer and winter, Lolo and Nonni were amazed with its beauty and fell in love with the place. 

Happy Anniversary, Papi and Mami!

17th June 2008 was Papi and Mami's 2nd year wedding anniversary and it was 9 days till the day i was be born. Papi brought Mami to a nice restaurant nearby to celebrate. This photo was taken before they left for the celebration. Can you see the pink Moses basket at the back, it was for me!
